Frequently Asked Questions

Within the past year or so I have started to get anxiety attacks when in the dentist and receiving any kind of service. It doesn't matter the type of service it is. What can I request that the doctor does to help with this when going to the dentist? Or what do I do in this type of situation, because it is really really making my trips to the dentist very horrible and it has caused me not to go as needed, I have some major dental work that is needed. Please point in the right direction, because I now have a new dentist and I need to make an appointment with them like yesterday. Thank You. Candice Adams

Going to the dentist can be anxious even for people who love their dentist. Aches and pains in the mouth are intense because of all of the nerves involved. I would suggest discussing your anxiety with your dentist. Often, it can be handled with familiarity to the dentist, soothing music, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) or relaxation techniques.
