My child is 3 1/2 yrs old. My Mom is a dental assistant and strongly recommends he see a dentist for a routine check-up. If he is not having problems with his teeth and we brush his teeth everyday, do you recommend the routine check-up? I think he would be too scared and it would be a waist of time. Please advise!!
The recommendation for a first visit is one year of age. Naturally, it is difficult to examine a one year old child, but instructions can be given to the parents at this time. By three years, the child should be having regular checkups.
