Questions
Do most general dentists refuse to see children under 6? What cons\cerns should I have if my child has a heart murmur? Should I change my subscribed dentist to one who will see a child under 6 when there is only one under 6 person on my family DentaQuest plan?
Children's dentistry appeals to many general dentists and they are willing to see a child beginning at age three. The American Dental Association suggests that a child be taken to the dentist at age 1. Many general dentists are not trained in caring for a child under the age of three, so they prefer to have a pediatric dentist see that one member of the family. Our customer service representatives can help you find a dentist to care for your child without the entire family changing from your general dentist. Any medical conditions should be revealed to your health care providers and they will advise you if any precautions need to be taken prior to dental services.
