Frequently Asked Questions

I am 36 years old and have two teeth on the bottom that overlap each other and One of them wiggles like its loose. What does that mean?

There are two main reasons for teeth feeling loose. One is bone loss usually caused by gum disease, and the treatment is to remove the cause of the disease surgically and then have proper hygiene to prevent the disease from recurring. The second reason is grinding a tooth until it gets loose. This commonly happens to people who grind their teeth in their sleep. If that is the cause, a nightguard (flexible mouthguard like athletes wear)can usually help. Your dentist should be able to determine the cause of the loose tooth and suggest an appropriate treatment.
