I have some extreme soreness under my last molar in my bottom rear gums. It is swollen and there seems to be a white dot at the tooth and gumline. I feel this is an abcess, wat are the possibilities and wat can i do myself before goin to the dentist.? THanks DAVE

If the white spot is sift and pus comes out if pressed, then an active infection is there. Warm rinses will keep it draining so pressure will not build up. You should see a dentist before the pain increases. If the white spot is hard, it may be another tooth erupting or piece of bone.
