Frequently Asked Questions

I am 22 weeks pregnant. I had two cavities on my front teeth. So I had them bonded about two months ago. I noticed the other day a piece chipped off the bottom part of my teeth. I am stressing out because these are my front teeth. Why would they be chipping? How long should the bonding last? And should my dentist fix it without charge? Is there maybe a better solution to repair it or just to rebond it? Thank you so much!

I can give a general answer, but your specific case may be different. In general, a filling should last for years and most dentists will replace them if they fail within the first two years. Bonding is a type of "filling" and porcelain veneers or crowns are more durable and longer lasting. If the bonding chipped because of unusual stress or grinding your teeth, then your dentist may advise a different solution for you.
