Hello, I am 31 yrs old and my dentist recommends I get my 2 top wisdom teeth pulled due to decay. The oral surgen indicated that I had extremely deep roots. None of my wisdom teeth are impacted and they have all surfaced. Should I be concerned about the fact that my roots are deep. Will I be at greater risk for complications? Very nervous... Thanks.

31 years of age is still young and most people heal quickly from this type of extraction. If your health is compromised or if you have diseases or conditions such as diabetes, smoking, or heavy alcohol consumption, then healing can be more difficult. With all surgery, there are risks associated with unseen factors, but the fact that your roots are long is not necessarily a reason to be concerned.
