Questions
Six months ago, I had a molar extracted and now there seems to be what feels like a bone spur on my inner gum line. It's uncomfortable, too. Can something be done?
This is very common following extractions, especially in the molar area. The source of bone is usually an edge that is so thin that it does not get nourishment (blood flow) and so the body sloughs it and expels it. If it is loose, it can be removed with tweezers or the dentist can assist you. If it is still attached and sharp and protruding, your dentist can smooth that area. This is all part of the body's natural healng process.
