Frequently Asked Questions

My son is 3 years old (Jan 3 2002). When can I take him for his check up or at what age should kids start to see dentists? Thanks

The current recommendation from the American Dental Association and the Academy of Pediatric Dentists is that children should be "seen" by age one. This visit consists of giving information to the parents about how to care for their child's teeth. It also serves as an introduction to the dentist and dental office so the child will feel more comfortable visiting in the future. Most dentists find that a child can cooperate with opening their mouth and having a dental exam at about age 3.
