Is it dangerous or harmful if a tooth grows out from the roof of the mouth?

Although a tooth that erupts out of occlusion (doesn't hit an opposite tooth)may not function well, it is rarely harmful or dangerous. If the tooth causes a sore on your tongue or interferes with other teeth or is sore itself, have your dentist evaluate it.
