DentaQuest Names New Vice President of Sales -- 9/8/2006
(Baltimore, MD) – DentaQuest has announced that Mark Haraway has been named Vice President of Sales for DentaQuest’s Mid-Atlantic region.
Initially hired as a Broker Representative for Consumer Dental Care, the precursor to DentaQuest, Haraway developed from scratch a network of employee benefits brokers and consultants that eventually included more than 1,200 active producers, resulting in outstanding revenue and company growth. Haraway’s leadership in sales, marketing and product information were instrumental in the company’s 20 percent annual growth between 1990 and 2001. In 2001, when Consumer Dental Care was acquired by Boston-based DentaQuest Ventures, LLC, it listed an annual gross revenue of $15 million.
“Mark not only cultivated an extensive group of active producers, but also provided innovative ideas for strategic planning and product development,” said Fay Donohue, President and COO of DentaQuest Ventures. “We have no doubt that he will continue to chart a course of strong growth for DentaQuest in the years ahead.”
Haraway holds an MBA from the R.H. Smith School of Business at the University of Maryland and a B.S. in Business Administration from Appalachian State University. A recognized authority in the dental insurance industry, he is a frequent speaker at industry seminars, product presentations and continuing education courses nationwide. Haraway is a member and past president of the Baltimore Association of Health Underwriters and the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of Baltimore. He is also legislative chair and president-elect of the Maryland Association of Health Underwriters and founder and treasurer of the Political Action Committee for the Health Insurance Industry. Harraway also serves on the board of the Baltimore Life Underwriters Charitable Foundation.
