AARP Names DentaQuest Best Employer for Workers Over 50
Mequon, WI – The AARP announced today that it has named DentaQuest, the parent company of Mequon-based Doral, to its 2008 list of the Best Employers for Workers Over 50.
DentaQuest was recognized for its recruiting practices, education and career development, job sharing, flexible scheduling, health care and retirement benefits, as well as workplace accommodations.
“This award recognizes the fact that we not only value our older workers as important members of the team, but also that we support policies and initiatives that improve morale and retention,” said Fay Donohue, CEO.
To support the crucial and ever growing needs of their mature workers, DentaQuest benefit initiatives go beyond covering the basics by including: Long Term Care Insurance, employment and training ties with local mature worker based organizations such as Operation A.B.L.E., work-life balance focused programs such as telecommuting and flexible work schedules. DentaQuest also provides its mature workers with opportunities for professional growth.
AARP The Magazine is featuring the 2008 Best Employers in its November-December issue.
“A diverse group of corporations and not-for-profits are increasingly recognizing the importance of innovative policies as employers seek to retain and recruit experienced workers,” AARP CEO Bill Novelli said in announcing the winners. “Progressive practices lead to more productive workers.”
Novelli noted that in the face of rising health care costs, many Best Employers are adopting practices such as health screenings and other wellness programs that will pay off for both the employee and the employer.
