Keeping your information safe

When you use apps on your mobile devices to see your health information, make sure the information stays protected. You may use different apps. But think about how these apps use your information. Check if the app has good security and privacy rules.

How to get started

  1. Create your DentaQuest member portal account.
  2. Find an app in the Google Play Store (Android) or the App Store (iOS). See My Health Application for examples. Note: not all apps are connected to DentaQuest.
    • If you want to use an app that is not connected, ask the app maker to work with DentaQuest.
  3. Check the app’s privacy rules. Good apps should:
    • Protect your personal information
    • Keep your data safe when storing and sending it
    • Follow laws about telling you if there's a data breach
    • Have plans for fixing security problems
  4. Download the app once you know it connects to DentaQuest.
  5. Create your account:
    • Link your dental information and pick DentaQuest as your dental plan.
    • Enter your member portal username and password.
    • Read the "Access your Health Data" statement and click "Allow Access" if you agree.
  6. Use your information to manage your oral health.

How to stop sharing your data

  1. Log into your member portal account.
  2. Click “Manage my data” next to your name.
