DentaQuest partners with Iowa HHS to provide dental coverage through the Dental Wellness Plan (DWP). Our goal is to support members and their families in maintaining good oral health. Below you will find key information about your plan. 

Diagnostic and Preventive Dental Services

• Dental X-rays
• Cleanings
• Fluoride (Members aged 0-20)
• Sealants (Members aged 0-20)
• Space Maintainers (Members aged 0-20)

Treatments

• Fillings and Crowns
• Root Canals
• Extractions
• Periodontics
• Prosthodontics (Dentures)

Additional

• Orthodontia (Braces) (Members aged 0-20)
• Analgesia and Sedation
• Emergency dental care
• Teledentistry

Annual Benefit Maximum: For members ages 21 and older, the Dental Wellness Plan (DWP) has an Annual Benefit Maximum (ABM) of $1,000. This is the most the plan will pay for dental care during one benefit year, (July 1 through June 30).

The following services do not apply to the ABM:

• Preventive and Diagnostic Services (Exams, X-rays, cleanings)
• Sedation Related to Oral Surgery
• Dentures
• Emergency Services

Some services need approval before the dentist can perform them. This is called prior authorization. Services must be necessary for DentaQuest to pay for them.
