Nick Messuri, JD

Nick is a leading legal expert in health care fraud, waste and recovery, and he manages a national dental anti-fraud and abuse program that includes 30+ million Medicaid, Medicare and commercial DentaQuest members. Nick’s passion for protecting Medicaid members and public health care dollars has been a constant since 1995. During his public service tenure, he helped recovered millions in restitution and obtained both civil judgments and criminal convictions against providers for a variety of health care fraud schemes. In his current role, Nick and his team work on upfront protection and prevention programs and use the intelligence gained through investigation to identify ongoing prevention improvements. With leadership experience including 10 years as the Division Chief of the Medicare Fraud Division at the Boston Attorney General’s office and nine years as Director of Fraud Prevention and Recovery at Tufts Health Plan, Nick frequently provides advice to other special investigation units within health care, speaks on fraud enforcement and ethics at national conferences, and has testified before the U.S. Senate Finance Committee on improving Medicaid fraud control initiatives.
