Become a Community Advisory Committee Member

We want to hear your ideas for helping more people in California have healthy smiles. We are inviting members to join our Community Advisory Committee so you can share your thoughts and help shape the services and programs that support your community.

The Role of a Community Advisory Committee Member

Reviewing and providing feedback:

Community Advisory Committee members help improve our program in many important ways. They review service quality, access to care and preventive services. They look at the needs of the community and help identify care gaps and differences in healthcare. Members also give feedback on how we support members, including children’s services and communication needs. They share ideas about community resources, oral health education and outreach. They also support foster youth and people with health conditions. The Community Advisory Committee’s work helps us build strong partnerships that respect cultures.

Our conversations discuss:

Community Advisory Committee members share ideas on how to make sure all members get quality care. They talk about ways to support different languages and cultures within the program. Members help find ways to strengthen and improve the program and suggest changes that help people stay healthier. They share ideas on how to find and support good dental providers. Community Advisory Committee members also look for better ways to help more people get the care they need.

Community Advisory Committee Meeting members include:

  • DentaQuest members, parents or caregivers of a DentaQuest member
  • Community stakeholders and leaders
  • Community groups and organizations
