DentaQuest community partners have exclusive access to our oral health resources to educate community members, connect them with oral health providers and help improve overall outcomes.

Healthy Behaviors

DentaQuest wants you to take good care of your oral health. That's why we offer a Healthy Behavior Rewards Program. You can earn rewards for going to the dentist for care.

You and your family could receive a gift card when you visit the dentist! The Amazon gift card is redeemable for oral health supplies such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss, and mouthwash; baby care items such as diapers, bottles and formula, school supplies and clothes.

Timely Access to Care

DentaQuest must provide appointments within the following timeframes:

  • Initial Dental Health Appointments (exam, x-rays) – within 4 weeks
  • Routine appointments (including preventive care) – within 4 weeks
  • Specialist appointments – within 30 working days (ages 21+); within 30 calendar days (under age 21)
  • Urgent care appointments (imminent pain/swelling/bleeding) – within 72 hours
  • Emergency care (immediate acute pain/swelling/bleeding) – within 24 hours
  • After-Hours Emergency Availability (answering service or directed to provider) – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week

Non-Medical Transportation

You are entitled to use Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) when you physically or medically are not able to get to your medical appointment by car, bus, train, or taxi, and the plan pays for your dental condition.

 

You can use Non-Medical Transportation (NMT) when you are:

Traveling to and from an appointment for a DentaQuest covered service prescribed by your provider.

 

To ask for NEMT or NMT services, please call DentaQuest at 1-855-388-6257 (TTY 1-800-466-7566) at least 10 working days (Monday-Friday) before your appointment or call as soon as you can when you have an urgent appointment.

Please have your member ID number ready when you call.

Community Advisory Committee

We want to hear your ideas for helping more people in California have healthy smiles. We are inviting members to join our Community Advisory Committee so you can share your thoughts and help shape the services and programs that support your community.

Every 3 months, we come together to check in on how things are going and explore ways we can make our services even better for families in your community. Community Advisory Committee meetings give you a chance to discuss your concerns, ask questions and share your thoughts on how we are doing.

  • Community Advisory Committee Meetings are held 4 times a year.
  • Meetings happen online using Zoom or MS Teams.
  • Interpreters will be provided upon request.
  • Active California Dental Managed Care DentaQuest Members can receive $100 for each quarterly meeting they attend as an officially selected Community Advisory Committee Member for a maximum of 4 meetings per year. Members are required to be eligible for services at the time of the meeting and to participate for the duration of each meeting in order to receive payment. This payment is only a benefit for plan members who have received an official notice that they have been selected.
