DentaQuest announced today that Hyon Leon, director, data analytics & underwriting, has been named to Profiles in Diversity Journal’s 2022 Asian Leaders Worth Watching. This recognition highlights Asian men and women who, through advocacy, perseverance, legacy, or professional achievements, have addressed racism and bias to become an Asian Leader Worth Watching.
Hyon has been instrumental in advancing DentaQuest’s diversity, equity and inclusion efforts. She is founder and co-chair of DentaQuest’s Asian American employee resource group (ERG), created to advance cultural awareness, break down language barriers, improve the sense of belonging and increase Asian representation.
“I’m honored to be recognized as an Asian Leader Worth Watching along with the other inspiring awardees,” said Hyon. “Asian Americans across the country are making incredible contributions in their professional and personal lives to change the status quo. As founder and co-chair of this ERG, she has created a voice for Asian Americans to be heard, a forum to share thoughts and feelings in a safe environment about challenges facing the AAPI community, and a place where diversity is celebrated. Her efforts have increased understanding of Asian culture, languages and traditions that impact DentaQuest employees, DentaQuest provider partners and millions of DentaQuest members throughout the country. Through her leadership and advocacy, DentaQuest celebrates Asian holidays, such as Lunar New Year, AAPI Heritage Month and Diwali and contributes to the Asian community including funding to STOP AAPI HATE.
